Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide production and technical support for a 24/7 manufacturing operation.
  • Enhance operational metrics and contribute to company goals by identifying and spearheading safe and sustainable improvements in processes, equipment, and technology.
  • Document changes and process information for training, troubleshooting, and general dissemination purposes.
  • Maintain a hands-on approach with a mechanical mindset to perform repairs, implement both short- and long-term solutions, and complete work orders assigned through our maintenance system.
  • Research, recommend, and justify capital equipment investments that align with departmental and company objectives.
  • Lead multiple engineering projects simultaneously to foster continuous improvement within operations.
  • Manage project support teams and document project management processes through departmental goal setting and project management software.
  • Identify and resolve issues using scientific methods, including Root Cause Analysis, Six Sigma principles, and Lean methodologies.
  • Deliver exceptional internal customer service as a key production support resource and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives across the plant. Maintain the 6S program in production cells, assisting team members and reporting recurring variations to leadership.
  • Adhere to all safety policies while actively participating in promoting a safe work environment for yourself and others.
  • Perform additional support tasks as needed to ensure the team's success, as requested by plant leadership.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field (required).
  • Preferably 1-3 years of experience supporting manufacturing operations in a 24/7 process manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to lead small technical improvement projects aimed at increasing reliability or efficiency.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software, such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with a team-oriented approach.
  • Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, with a preference for experience leading continuous improvement projects in a focus-driven operational excellence environment.
  • Experience with automated systems, vision systems, robotics (such as Fanuc or Techman), and machining or electrical build capabilities is a plus.
