PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

oImprove product cost and quality by developing and maintaining the optimum sequence of manufacturing or assembly operations that produce parts conforming to specifications identified on the product drawing.

oEnsure product quality by accurately specifying and/or designing gaging and specifying the frequency of inspection so machine operators are able to ensure the product produced meets specifications.

oEnhance delivery performance by providing timely shop liaison to present and solve manufacturing problems and maintain the production schedule.

oImprove product quality and delivery by identifying and implementing corrective action that prevents recurring manufacturing problems.

oEnsure cost effective new product designs by identifying opportunities to improve manufacturability features on new product designs.

oImprove product and overall system quality by developing and following procedures to comply with ISO9000, ISO14000 and OHSAS18000.

oImprove department performance by training and developing the skills and knowledge of fellow manufacturing engineers, machine operators and others.

QUALIFICATIONS

oKnowledge of manufacturing drawing specifications including GD&T terminology.

oAbility to specify manufacturing processes appropriate to tolerances required.

oAbility to support group process improvement events with technical solutions.

oInitiative and responsibility to complete projects with minimal supervision.

Understanding of mechanical componets

Pro E and Auto Cad experience

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Engineering or Technical Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university; and three (3) to five (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LEAN Enterprise a plus.
