Manufacturing Engineer

Manufacturing Engineer will provide engineering support for production regarding product design and technical functions while optimizing current processes and also introduce and develop new processes for continuous improvement of efficiency and quality.

DUTIES:

• Assists Engineering Department with quotations for tooling and product development;

• Responsible for manufacturing processes and resolving technical problems with production;

• Works closely with production and quality to continuously improve the manufacturing processes and tooling;

• Implements problem solving and process improvement techniques;

• Monitors cost performance and coordinates improvements for assigned products;

• Reviews and revises manufacturing written work instructions

• Participates in engineering meetings as required by customers;

• Supervises the documentation of files, logs, and records of projects as they relate to quality, product and engineering issues;

• Manage various new product and capital programs;

• Performs time studies;

• Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Any combination of experience/education equivalent to a Bachelor Degree in Engineering and 3-5 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably a CNC machining or assembly operation;

• Knowledge of tool building and design, layouts, cycle times, quoting procedures; assembly procedures;

• Ability to implement progressive manufacturing processes; Organizational skills contributing to functioning in a multi-service department;

• Ability to work with IBM compatible computer and appropriate software as well as other hardware structures; AutoCAD and CAD/CAM proficiency desirable;

• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals;

• Understanding of various test methods utilized for inspection and survey of sample products;

• Familiarity with ISO requirements and processes.
