Job DescriptionOur client is a well-established and growing Tier 1 manufacturer with several plants operating and a view to further acquisitions and expansion. Business is very good. This role will be a key new addition to the Engineering Team.Key Responsibilities:The Manufacturing Engineer (Mechanical Engineer) is responsible for providing support to the production process. More precisely, the incumbent:Designs automated machinery and tooling for metal forming applications Determines the process and methods required for material design (speeds, horsepower, temperature, pressure, force) as related to machine and tool designs Responsible for drawing review to ensure manufacturability (material selection, proper machining techniques, finishes, hardness) Liaison with electrical designers to define and review electrical specifications Participates in cross functional APQP meetings, providing technical specifications to internal team to ensure timelines are met Analyzes and evaluates internal and external fabrication for manufacturability and cost Provides specifications and quotations for purchased and manufactured parts Creates and maintains drawings and machine documentation to be utilized for manuals and lessons learnedJob Requirements:University Degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Design & Analysis is required Minimum of 3 years’ experience in mechanical design in an automotive manufacturing environmentSolid understanding of materials and manufacturing processes (metal forming, robotics, automation) Practical knowledge of GD&T with the capacity to communicate requirements Theoretical understanding of electrical devices and servo systemsPerform other duties as assignedThe ability to freely travel across boarders (USA)Valid Driver’s license Strong technical and analytical aptitudes for problem solvingGood analytical abilityComputer literate – AutoCAD, MS Word and ExcelStrong interpersonal and team skillsAbility to work with minimal supervisionPrioritizing / time management skills, ability to cope with multiple tasks Our client offers a competitive compensation package with a comprehensive, flexible group benefits program.
