Toyoda Gosei Fluid Systems (TGFS) is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer-Equipment Design to join our team!

Responsible for leading the design and implementation of new equipment with vendors. This position will continually improve processes in the areas of safety, ergonomics, quality, labor, cost-savings and production efficiency.

Core competencies, Knowledge, Skills & Education:

  • BS Degree or equivalent related experience in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
  • 1-3 years’ experience in an automotive environment
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all team members and external parties
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of JDE, FileHold and ADP software packages desired
  • Proper handling of confidential and sensitive information
  • Must be result-driven
  • Sound analytical and problem solving-skills, with an emphasis on a “hands-on” approach
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing principles and practices
  • Knowledge of defects in safety-critical parts
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong planning and time management skills.

Major Accountabilities:

  • Determine project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates
  • Determine project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements
  • Identify problems with projects, taking the lead on developing solutions and ensuring solutions are implemented
  • Listening and responding to team and client requests
  • Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems
  • Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommending actions
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Coordinate production trials and train to prepare for product launch
  • Prepare manufacturing proposals and estimates for process improvements including tooling cost requirements, and manufacturing resources
  • Participate actively and effectively in continuous improvement plans related to position responsibilities
  • Support manufacturing engineering responsibilities during slow equipment launch periods
