The Mfg Eng Supervisor is a player and coach for the Mfg Eng team. As an individual contributor, the Mfg Eng Supervisor will be responsible for Mfg Eng support of an assigned business area. As a supervisor, the Mfg Eng Supervisor will share best practices with the team, ensure each team member is sufficiently supported, administer team assignments, provide status and support to the management team, and champion Mfg Eng improvement initiatives.

• Provided technical guidance to the Mfg Eng team through daily contact with each team member

• Ensure team members have sufficient direction on priorities and are working the tasks accordingly through daily contact and approving team members time sheets

• Identify and report up any issues requiring Mfg Eng support that could be potential bottlenecks to the standard manufacturing flow

• Track and provide at least weekly status of any ongoing issues requiring Mfg Eng input – this can be accomplished through a weekly stand-up meeting

• Support assigned business area to meet the monthly financial goals of the company

• Identify potential improvements in assigned business area and assist other team member in identifying potential improvements – maintain a running list of potential improvement projects

• Work with management to determine improvement initiatives that provide a return-on-investment and track those initiatives through to completion

• Participate in team member yearly reviews and quarterly updates, providing feedback on skills and areas of improvements

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a Technical Discipline or related experience

• 8+ Years of Experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role plus management experience

• Experience in a Manufacturing environment, including implementing Lean Manufacturing principals

• Experience developing electro-mechanical products is a plus

• Experience developing and/or manufacturing Defense or Aerospace products is a plus

• Technical curiosity and eagerness to learn new things

• Able to use Microsoft Excel or similar program for data analysis

• Good troubleshooting skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong organization skills

The employee is frequently required to sit at work desk or table for extended periods of time, operate a keyboard and mouse, research documentation and specifications, read product specifications, speak clearly, understand the speech of others, and perform presentations. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
