Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Start machines and observe mechanical operation to determine efficiency and detect problems.
• Inspect or test damaged machine parts and mark defective areas or advise supervisors of repair
needs.
• Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications.
• Dismantle and reassemble parts for repair, using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes or hoists.
• Read work orders and specification to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or
maintenance.
• Inventory and requisition machine parts, equipment, and other supplies so that stock can be
maintained and replenished.
• Transport machine parts, tools, equipment, and other material between work areas and storage,
using cranes, hoists, or dollies.
• Clean machines and machine parts using cleaning solvents, cloths, air guns, hoses, vacuums or
other equipment.
• Familiar with Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
SHARED RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Monitor, maintain, service and record machine coolant tanks and bulk tanks as needed.
• Maintain way oil levels on various machines.
• Process shop waste - cardboard, garbage, wood, etc.
• Monitor, separate, record and ship all recyclables.
• Monitor waste oil and waste water for removal by outside service.
• Maintain maintenance cleaning equipment.
• Transport machine parts, tools, equipment, and other material between work areas and storage,
using cranes, hoists, or dollies.
• Clean machines and machine parts as needed using solvents, cloths, air guns, hoses, vacuums,
or other equipment.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• High School diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED) required.
• 3+ years related experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively in a team oriented environment.
• Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
• Ability to adapt to change in the workplace.5.2019
• Must be able to work productively with minimum supervision.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Ability to use standard office equipment.
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs, i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point,
Publisher.
• Ability to add, sub-tract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,
common fractions and decimals.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The
employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, feel or handle objects, tools or
controls; and reach with hands or arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk;
climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. Must be able to walk or stand on concrete
for up to 4 hours at a time.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision; vision;
peripheral vision; depth perception and the ability to focus.
