Job Summary:
The Maintenance Planner is a salary position. This person will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing maintenance plans to ensure the reliability and efficiency of plant operations. This role involves planning preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities, managing maintenance resources, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives and reports to the Maintenance Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance Planning:
- Develop detailed maintenance plans and schedules for all equipment and systems within the facility.
- Coordinate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to prioritize and plan maintenance activities.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Work Order Management:
- Generate and manage work orders, ensuring accurate documentation and tracking of maintenance activities.
- Review and prioritize incoming work requests, allocating resources as needed.
- Ensure timely completion of work orders and proper recording of completed tasks.
- Resource Management:
- Identify and allocate necessary resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, for maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with procurement to ensure the availability of necessary spare parts and materials.
- Maintain an inventory of critical spare parts and manage stock levels to prevent downtime.
- Preventive and Predictive Maintenance:
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
- Monitor equipment performance and condition, using data and analytics to identify potential issues and plan maintenance activities.
- Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance processes, reduce downtime, and improve overall plant efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement best practices in maintenance and reliability.
- Provide training and support to maintenance personnel to ensure adherence to maintenance procedures and standards.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, maintenance schedules, and equipment history.
- Prepare and present reports on maintenance performance, highlighting key metrics and improvement opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company standards related to maintenance documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in maintenance planning, preferably in a chemical or industrial manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance practices, equipment, and systems used in chemical plants.
- Proficiency in using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and other relevant software.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a chemical plant environment, including exposure to various temperatures, noise levels, and chemicals.
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs and ladders as required.
- Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment as needed.
