Department: Machine Shop Reports To: Production Manager Summary: A Manufacturing Process Specialist focuses on troubleshooting production floor issues, collaborating with engineering team to address manufacturing and quality issues, ensuring optimal efficiency and product quality. The Manufacturing Process Specialist must have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement, optimize production efficiency and hold high quality standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve production floor issues to minimize downtime
- Collaborate with engineering to develop solutions for manufacturing, update and review process prints ensuring they accurately reflect current production requirements and standards.
- Assist in root cause analysis of quality issues and provide feedback to implement corrective and preventive actions
- Support new manufacturing processes and equipment into production
- Provide technical support to machinist
- Participate in continuous improvement to enhance efficiency, and improve product quality
- Maintain thorough documentation of issues, and process changes
Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, tools, and equipment, including CNC machinery
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
- Experience with CAD/CAM software
- Experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
