Marine Electrical Engineer

- Design, develop, and test circuit boards for marine powertrain applications
- Build and assemble circuit boards, ensuring they meet design specifications
- Conduct thorough testing and certification of circuit boards to ensure compliance with industry standards
- Write and debug embedded and PC software, ensuring seamless integration with marine powertrain systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to test and validate designs on boats
- Work hands-on to build prototypes and troubleshoot issues during the development process
- Interface directly with suppliers regarding quality and supply chain management
- Document all design processes, test results, and modifications for future reference
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Proven experience in circuit board design, assembly, and testing
- Proficiency in writing and debugging software for embedded systems
- Strong understanding of marine powertrain systems and their electrical components
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical information clearly
- Experience with industry-standard testing and certification processes
- Familiarity with marine industry standards and regulations
- Experience with CAD software for circuit board design such as EAGLE
- Proficiency writing in C++ and Python
- Knowledge of power electronics and motor control systems
- Hands-on experience in building and testing prototypes including PCB soldering and assembly
- Experience in supplier quality and supply chain management
In this position you will be working 7am-4pm M-F. You will mainly be responsible for working closely with the marine powertrain team in designing, building, and testing circuit boards, as well as writing software for these circuits.
