Marine Electronics Technician

Bayliss Boatworks is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Marine Electronics Technician to join our service yard and new construction teams. As part of our crew, you'll play a critical role in servicing and installing advanced marine electronics on our custom sportfishing vessels, ensuring they meet the high standards of excellence our brand is known for.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, repair, and maintain a variety of marine electronic systems, including radar, sonar, GPS, navigation systems, and communication equipment.
• Design and install NMEA2000 communication networks, ensuring compliance with ABYC and NMEA standards. (Installation may require working aloft on sportfishing towers.)
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electronic systems and networks, swiftly identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime for vessels.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure longevity and reliability of all electronic equipment.
• Handle wiring and cabling with precision, ensuring all connections are secure and meet safety standards.

Qualifications:

• 5-7 years of experience as a Marine Electronics Technician or in a similar role within the marine industry.
• Familiarity with all major brands, including Simrad, Raymarine, Garmin, and Furuno.
• Technical school or certification in marine electronics is .
• ABYC and NMEA certifications are a plus and will be required after hire.
