Marine HVAC and Refrigeration Engineer

Solvere Technical Group is seeking a Marine HVAC and Refrigeration Engineer to design, develop, and evaluate operation of shipboard HVAC&R systems (including heating/cooling load, duct sizing and chill water piping calculations, equipment selection). Conduct reviews of technical data packages and conduct HVAC&R trade studies. Will work "Onsite" 2-3 days per/week and remotely the remaining days of the week in Washington, D.C.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop ship propulsion and control systems specifications as they relate to Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC).
  • Perform design reviews and feasibility analyses on concept, preliminary, contract, and detail design of marine HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Provide documentation and support on integration HVAC systems and elements.

Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ documented experience relating to the design of marine HVAC and/or refrigeration systems.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with ABS, USN, and industry standards relating to shipboard HVAC systems .
  • Experience related to federal ship or boat building acquisition programs .

Education:

BS or MS in Technical, Engineering, or Marine Degree from ABET accredited institution, related to field of work.

Security:

  • Must have a Secret Clearance or higher.
  • Must pass a standard background check.

Place of Performance:

  • Will work "Onsite" 2-3 days per/week and remotely the remaining days of the week in Washington, D.C.
  • Washington, D.C.: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
