Hinckley Yachts has been building and servicing America’s finest yachts since 1928; known for building and servicing strong, seaworthy and beautiful yachts, is seeking an experienced Mechanic for our boat yard in Stuart, Florida. The Mechanic performs mechanical, hydraulic, and plumbing tasks for boat repairs, utilizing various power and hand-tools.
Essential Duties:
- Carry out regular maintenance and servicing of the vessels’ engines and mechanical systems
- installation of other machinery such as motors, pumps, ventilating systems, and auxiliary systems.
- maintenance of mechanical boat systems
- Ensure that all work complies with safety standards and regulations
- Repair or replace malfunctioning components, parts, and systems
- Remove and install drivelines
- Various steering systems installation and repairs
- Basic marine plumbing skills
- Hydraulics systems maintenance and repairs
- Ensure that all work complies with safety standards and regulations
Requirements:
- Two (3) to four (5) years' experience in marine mechanics or marine diesel engines diagnostics/repairs.
- Vocational technical school degree/certification or high school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED).
- Must have your own tools (specialty tools are provided).
- Must be able to work 7am-3:30pm, Monday through Friday (Weekend/ overtime opportunities offered on a voluntary basis).
- Physical requirements: must be able to lift at least 50lbs, periodically climb stairs, ladders, kneel, squat, walk, sit, or stoop.
