Location: East Houston Area (77029)
Job Type: Full-Time
Compensation: Up to $50 per flag hour, with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week

Job Description: We are looking for a skilled and certified diesel mechanic who specializes in 18-wheelers and provides comprehensive maintenance and repair services from bumper to bumper. The ideal candidate should have extensive hands-on experience, diagnostic expertise, and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
Responsibilities:

Perform full-service maintenance and repairs on 18-wheelers, including engine diagnostics, transmission repairs, brake systems, electrical systems, and suspension components.

Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure vehicle reliability and compliance with DOT regulations.

Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using advanced diagnostic tools.

Repair and replace defective components, including fuel, cooling, exhaust, and steering mechanisms.

Perform routine inspections to identify potential mechanical failures before they occur.

Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and labor hours.

Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Work collaboratively with team members and provide mentorship to junior mechanics if needed.
Requirements:

Minimum of 10 years of experience as a diesel mechanic specializing in 18-wheelers.

Relevant certifications (e.g., ASE, CDL, OEM certifications) .

Strong diagnostic skills and experience using modern diagnostic equipment.

Proficiency in repairing engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and other major truck components.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Must own a basic set of tools (specialty tools provided by the company).

Valid driver’s license (CDL but not required).

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various environmental conditions.
