Master Thesis: Revving Up Resilience: Modelling of Modern Fail-Operational and Highly Available ATV Power Systems (f/m/div)
Do you want to deepen your knowledge by getting some work experience and as cherry on top doing your master thesis with a future-oriented company on a real-life topic? The KAI Competence Center for Automotive and Industrial Electronics was founded in 2006, is a 100% subsidiary of Infineon, and is located in the Villach Technology Park. The focus of our research is the reliability of power semiconductors in automotive and industrial applications. Our team in Villach is looking forward to receiving your application! At KAI, we create reliability test methods and systems. For an existing power distribution test system, we plan to extend the functionality in the direction of mimicking fail-operational and highly available power distribution topologies and build up a system-level model within Matlabs Simscape. Therefore, during your thesis project, we expect you to become a growing expert in high-level system modeling, with a strong focus on Automotive Power Distribution Topologies. This means you will need to acquire some special knowledge and perform dedicated tasks:Learn about Infineon’s Smart Power Switches and how to use them in power distribution topologiesImprove your skills in high-level system modeling with state-of-the-art toolsEvaluate different topologies and develop an evaluation scheme to scientifically compare themDesign, build, and evaluate a working prototypeDocument your results by writing and submitting your Master thesisThis thesis has to be written in cooperation with an university.Further Information Type of employment: Temporary / Full-time (flexible working hours from Monday to Friday between 6 and 7 Duration: min. 8 monthsYou are a committed master's student covering the area of Electrical Engineering,(Power-) Electronics, and System Engineering with a strong ambition for modern automotive power distribution topologies. With your hands-on mentality, you like to bring ideas to life. You have:Knowledge and experience with lab measurements, circuit design, electro-thermal simulations (SPICE, Simscape, PLECS,…) and doing PCB layoutsThe ability to work and communicate well with our international team in English and German is a plusCompleted most of your exams and can start right awayThis position is subject to the collective agreement for workers and employees in the electrical and electronics industry (full-time), employment group B for bachelor students, employment group D for master students (;Please attach the following documents (German or English) to your application: Motivation letter CV Certificate of matriculation at a university Latest Transcript of records (not older than 6 months) Highest completed educational certificate (Matura certificate for Bachelor students, Bachelor certificate for Master students) Reference letter (optional)BenefitsCoaching, mentoring networking possibilitiesWide range of training offers & planning of career developmentInternational assignmentsDifferent career paths: Project Management, Technical Ladder, Management & Individual ContributorFlexible working conditionsHome office optionsPart-time work possible (also during parental leave)SabbaticalChild care in Villach & KlagenfurtOn-site social counselling and works doctorHealth promotion programsOn-site canteenPrivate insurance offersWage payment in case of sick leaveCorporate pension benefitsFlexible transition into retirementPerformance bonusAccessibility, access for wheelchairs
