MATERIAL SELECTION, CORROSION & PAINTING PROCESS SPECIALIST
Material,Corrosion & Painting Process Specialist works on Front End EngineeringDesign (FEED) and Engineering Procurement Construction and Commissioning (EPCC)Projects (mainly in oil & gas, petrochemicals, fertilizer processingindustries and powers plants).He/She has to follow safety and cost-effectivenesscriteria, Contractual requirements, International Codes and Standards. Key Activities &Responsibilities:reviewof contractual documentations;MATERIALSELECTION including:corrosionrate evaluation or calculation as per literature data and / or corrosionsoftwareselectionof proper material grade (i.e. low alloy, CRA, etc.) along with corrosionallowancedefinitionof requirements (chemical composition restriction, heat treatment conditionsand/or corrosion testing, installation of insulation kit, etc.) for specificcorrosive fluids (i.e. sour service HIC/SSC, high temperature hydrogen attack, amine,etc.)reviewof laboratory corrosion testing proceduresPROTECTIVECOATING / LINING (atmospheric corrosion, internal lining, buried and submergedsurfaces) including hot dip galvanizing, thermal spray coating, etc. This dutyincludes: definitionof technical specificationsreviewof Vendor documentationcoatingpre-job meeting at application workshops / siteauditat laboratories for accelerated corrosion tests;spotinspections during and after application;CORROSIONMONITORING requires the following: identificationof probe types suitable for corrosive process;installationplace of probes and coupon;defineof the threshold limits / acceptance criteria based on probes selected;CATHODICPROTECTION: general protection criteria and design by SACP and ICCP;RISKBASED INSPECTION requires the following:basicknowledge of the methodology;abilityto manage the third party and contractual requirements in order to prepare allthe deliverables requested such as: inspection plan (CML), corrosion loopsmarked up, etc.;CORROSIONINHIBITION / CHEMICAL TREATMENT in order to manage the corrosion phenomena;CHEMICALCLEANING in order to meet proper process requirement;ASSISTANCE,providing support during design phases, construction and commissioning in theoperating center and/or at site based on the project needs. PersonalAttributes:Master’sdegree in Industrial Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, Material Science or similartechnical field;Materialand Metallurgical background with knowledge of material selection for applicationin petrochemical, power, fertilizing and oil & gas industry;fluentin English;availabilityto travel at site and/or vendor workshop on the basis of Company needs;3 ÷5 years of experience is a preferred requirement.
