Summary:
Materials Supervisor will maintain production and distribution of product by pulling order from inventory; delivering production materials and supplies; staging finished product. Materials Lead would be responsible for overseeing Material Handlers and work to develop solutions for Warehouse issues.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and enforce standardized processes across the plants, especially in areas where mistakes occur.
- Training of new material handlers and re-training of material handlers if errors occur.
- Cross-training material handlers for all plants.
- Develop KPIs to show performance and accuracy improvement.
- Utilize power lifting equipment: pallet jack, forklift, stand up, overhead crane, etc.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, have sufficient knowledge of all equipment used by the department and any safety requirements during its operation.
- Maintain accurate paperwork and documentation.
- Support material handling function with troubleshooting and error resolution when needed.
- Maintain process to regularly address root causes for key issues across material handler function.
- Drive and measure timely execution of material handler tasks.
- Work with Supply Chain to ensure shipments and receivables paperwork and quantities are accurate.
- Coordinate with external vendors for Swarf shipments and environmental waste removal.
- High level understanding of material flow within each of the 4 production areas or related experience and or skill level
- Communication with production and distribution to manage exceptions to normal scheduled production activity.
- Review and manage work activity within each plant, Q management etc.
Other:
- Performs other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of inventory transactions and record keeping requirements / techniques.
- Proficient knowledge in SAP transactions.
- FORKLIFT CERTIFICATION and continue recertification as necessary.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 1 year warehouse experience in Material Control and Material handling basic job functions.
Skills:
- Good organization skills and math skills.
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well under pressure and within tight timelines.
- Team player with excellent interpersonal, relationship building, and resolution skills.
- Good working knowledge of scanners and their programs.
Abilities:
- Able to walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 60 lbs.
- Able to work overtime, if required
- Must not be afraid of heights
- Work in ambient (non air-conditioned) building
- Must be able to work all shifts
