About The Role\nDyer & Butler are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to bolster our commercial team within our ambitious and growing Rail Division working on a variety of stand alone and framework projects with or valued Clients such as Network Rail, Transport for London and Train Operating Companies.\nThe role will include a variety of civil engineering and rail infrastructure contracts, including pre-contract, internal reporting, contract administration and commercial management.\nDuties will include:\nProviding the commercial function across a wide variety of projects delivered under framework agreements and also stand-alone projects as required, to ensure successful project delivery.\nWorking within a team of talented professionals ensuring co-ordination and provision across all aspects of project delivery, \nUndertake pre-contract setup, including forecasting, measurement, sub-contract tendering and procurement,\nEffectively manage the commercial aspects of the project, including valuations, budget monitoring, material/plant reconciliation and contract variations. \nManagement and close out of Final Accounts\nAssess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks\nMaximize cashflow through the control and valuation of works, invoicing and payment processes\nEnsure compliance with all legal requirements, including contractual and legislative \nPreparing and reporting through Monthly Cost Value Reports\nPromoting collaborative and effective teamworking within the client environment\nAssisting and providing commercial/contractual guidance during production of cost significant variations\nPro-active dispute avoidance and management Applicant must have gained experience in a similar level role, be well organised with good presentation skills and have the ability to communicate professionally at all levels.  \n\nDegree Qualified in either Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (or equivalent) \nSuccessfully worked within a team of Quantity Surveyors previously, but equally capable of working alone\nA real eye for the finer details\nConfident IT skills, particularly Excel\nPrevious experience with NEC & JCT forms of contract is essentialDue to the variety of forms of contract used and complexity of the projects we work on, we prefer applicants for this role to have a background and experience in civil infrastructure and/or civil engineering contracts. \nThey should be commercially astute with a history of delivering projects within budget and possess the necessary interpersonal skills to work closely with client and site teams.\nWe will offer you a remuneration package including: \nHighly competitive salary\nBonus scheme\nPrivate Healthcare\nCar or car allowance\nPension\nHoliday\nFlexible benefits\nClear career path with support in your continued training & developmentThis is an exciting time in our continued development and we want to engage with ambitious and talented people interested in joining us.
