Job purpose:



The Mechanical & Electrical Engineer will manage, maintain and/or operate all electrical & mechanical systems across Pulsant’s data centre site in the Edinburgh region. They will provide first fix ability on M&E and fabric repairs, provide contractor supervision and ensure H&S requirements are met. This person will conduct small project works and provide technical resource to the team as required individually, providing supervision and support for larger tasks. They will also provide input to reports/audits as required from the management team.



Key responsibilities:



* Provide support to both external and internal clients, liasing positively and proactively to resolve any issues and exceed their expectations.



* Ensure records databases are kept up to date and that all related reports and checks are completed in a timely manner.



* Ensure that Pulsant buildings are clean, safe, and secure by rigidly following safety and security procedures, accreditations and standards.



* Ensure adherence to all Pulsant processes and procedures.



* Ensure that the Incident management escalations process is followed as required.



* Maintain a duty of care for everyone on site - immediately report any health and safety concerns and stopping the work continuing



* Assist with rack installations and cabling to obtain the maximum cooling efficiencies from the deployment.



* Logging of all faults and issues within Pulsant platforms and communicating and responding to tickets and requests in a professional and timely manner.



* Perform system monitoring, environment monitoring, remote / smart hands activities on behalf of customers, 3rd parties and other Pulsant technical teams as required.



* Carry out PPM tasks in a timely manner ensuring optimal building and facilities integrity, upkeep, maintenance, and aesthetics.



* Stock control of Pulsant assets and store management. Maintain Critical Spares for the Data Centre



* Provide support for all day-to-day activities on the site and ensure site security and integrity is maintained at all times across the campus site.



* Follow and adhere to robust access control process and procedures for customers, Pulsant employees and 3rd parties. Observe and assist with the site security enforcement.



* Involvement with regards to testing and handover, and knowledge and understanding of any new infrastructure or hardware / software installed monitoring the facility.



* Work on a ticketing system to ensure tasks are picked up daily and the correct response is given



Our ideal candidate:



* Time served electrical engineer, qualified to current electrical regulations (i.e. hold a current 18th Edition certification).



* Experience of operating in a mission critical environment



* Experience in some (not necessarily all) of the following would be advantageous: L.V. switching, HVAC Systems, UPS Circuitry, Generators, BMS Systems, Fire Preventative Systems



* Mechanical experience would be advantageous but not essential
