Roles & Responsibilities – Mechanical Contracts Manager
Ideal Candidate
* 10 + years of experienced within construction industry.
* Client facing with the ability to communicate at all levels.
* Forward thinking individual with the ability to work under self esteem.
* Very capable on use of MS Packages such as word, excel, Powerpoint and MS project.
* Ability to enforce process well and table innovative ideas.
* Enjoys meeting new people and some socialising with colleagues and Clients.
* Unfazed by change and does not get stressed easily.
Summary of R&R (Not limited to)
* Taking Client brief and develop scope as required.
* Overview of projects from cradle to grave as required to support the department Project Managers and ensuring each PM is conducting themselves correctly and managing their team in an appropriate manner.
* Carry out weekly progress meeting with each PM including commercial topics and highlight any potential issues
* Overview of project finances and liaison with financial team on applications and final account.
* Chair and update weekly operational meeting and update department look ahead programme.
* There would be a need to deliver projects as a PM from time to time which comes with R&R such as Construction programme production and Management.
* H&S documentation
* Liaison with sub-contractors to meet programme timelines
* RFI / Tech subs- Variation tracking, valuing and documentation
* Quality control walkround and documentation
* Chairing meetings and producing of documentation
* Progress reporting- Management of O&M close out
* Conduct PDRs with direct report staff within the department and set targets for each of them, both for the department and for their own development
* Apprentice mentoring and showing a keen interest in their development
* Overseeing better buying by site teams and making recommendations
* Work closely with the relevant Contracts Managers and department heads to ensure compliance across the Business
