The Witton/ Birmingham operation now have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Craftsperson to join their team.



This role will be based in the Engineering Maintenance Department reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and will be working a full continental shift pattern (shift premium applicable).



Role Purpose:

To provide routine maintenance support across all plant and development of new and established equipment throughout the Plant. A culture of continuous improvement, right first time and preventative maintenance operates within this area and all individuals are required to work within this framework.



Main duties:

Provide preventative, corrective, and reactive work across all plant equipment and facilities. An interesting and varied team-based role, encompassing a wide range of responsibilities for routine maintenance, support across various equipment including arc melting furnaces, forging, preheating furnaces, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, vacuum systems, cutting & milling processes.



Skills and experience required:

Essential -

• An innovative and dynamic team player.

• Qualified experience in metals or heavy industrial environment.

• Minimum qualification at ONC or NVQ level 3 or equivalent in mechanical engineering.

• A practical hands-on background in mechanical engineering.

• Good problem-solving skills.

• Experienced in hydraulic/pneumatic systems.



Desirable -

• Experienced fitting, machining, and welding skill set.

• Detailed expertise in hydraulics/pneumatics/vacuum systems
