This role involves working on diverse projects that range from initial design to machine commissioning, offering the chance to collaborate with multi-discipline project teams. You will use your expertise in mechanical design, stress analysis, and interfacing with control engineers to ensure high-quality project outcomes.\n\nThe Mechanical Design Engineer position also involves involvement in machine testing, trials, and customer visits, offering a truly hands-on experience.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * Produce conceptual designs and layout designs for mechanical/hydraulic machinery.\n\n * Perform stress and other calculations to support design integrity.\n\n * Collaborate with project teams across mechanical, structural, hydraulic, and maritime disciplines.\n\n * Assist in the build, commissioning, testing, and trials of machines, potentially involving travel abroad.\n\n * Work closely with control and software engineers to ensure smooth machine interfacing.\n\n * Support customer proposals and assist the sales team.\n\n * Provide customer support when needed.\n\nSkills & Experience\n\nWe are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with the following qualifications and skills:\n\n * A degree in Mechanical Engineering.\n\n * Solid understanding of engineering principles.\n\n * Experience in a design role, preferably working with low-volume, high-specification machines.\n\n * Practical experience in fabrication design and knowledge of geometric tolerances, limits and fits, weld symbols, and surface finish.\n\n * Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.\n\n * A proactive, problem-solving mindset, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.\n\n * Enthusiasm for engineering, coupled with a practical, hands-on approach.\n\nWhy Should You Apply?\n\nThis is an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work on diverse and innovative projects.
