Role Overview:
The Mechanical Design Engineer will assist in the design of prefabricated metal enclosures. With this role, the individual will be required to SolidWorks computer software on a daily basis to complete their assigned work.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create 2D and 3D electronic design plans for prefabricated enclosures. Details of the prefabricated enclosures encompass structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and communication systems including, duct systems, piping systems, mechanical equipment and electrical equipment using AutoCAD and Solid Works computer software.
- Must have the ability to create and modify technical drawings and schematics from engineer markups using Solid Works. Must know the platform Solid Works you will be tested during the interview.
- Coordinate routing of ductwork, piping and miscellaneous components with other trades.
- Support GTI's Engineers and Designers.
- Demonstrate the required attendance and punctuality.
Required Qualifications:
- Associates degree or equivalent from a vocational training program or technical school
- Familiar with ISO shipping container construction methods.
- Familiar with prefabricated and modular construction methods.
- Familiar with sheet metal, metal framing and weldments.
- Candidate should have good oral and written communication, interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and BIM/Solid Works is required.
- Must have a customer service perspective with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and clients.
- The successful candidate should be self-sufficient, have strong computer skills, and be very detail oriented.
- Must be proficient in MS Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
