Mechanical Design Engineer – Portsmouth, Hampshire – Permanent up to £45k\nI am recruiting for a manufacturing company specialising in the innovative design and production of electrical and electronic components. Their products are distributed worldwide through a network of partners in Europe, Asia and the US. They offer a breadth and depth of expertise in such markets as distribution, industrial and instrumentation, medical, military, aerospace, automotive and telecommunications.\nThis role is for a Senior Design Engineer in the product department, working on the design and development of new and existing products, from concept through to product launch.\nThis is an opportunity to work within a skilled team in New Product Design and Development, influencing the design and launch of new products, whilst cross functionally integrating with tooling and manufacturing departments.\nThe main duties of the role include:\n• Produce 3D CAD designs and technical drawings for manufacturing and customers.\n• Design work for the development of new product ideas; developing concepts through to full manufacture and launch.\n• Provide technical support to other departments.\n• Adhere to Global Engineering and industry standards.\n• Identify problems during new product development or when quality concerns arise.\n• Check manufacturing and customer drawings for completeness and accuracy.\nSkills and experience required:\n• Degree level qualification or equivalent in Mechanical and/or Electronic Engineering.\n• Previous experience in a design role.\n• Understanding and use of Creo Parametric or Solidworks software, FEA experience advantageous.\n• Comfortable working within standard quality procedures and engineering tolerancing.\n• Willingness to learn about production processes, design parameters and standardisation.\nFor more information please click apply and I will contact suitable applicants for an informal conversation
