Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Description
Murray Recruitment are recruiting a Mechanical Design Engineer for our client based in Eurocentral, Lanarkshire.

The successful candidate will play a key role in designing mechanical systems, producing technical drawings, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare fabrication, layout, schematic, assembly, and sub-assembly drawings with bill of materials.
- Undertake project-based mechanical design and detailing of machined components, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drive systems.
- Perform mechanical design calculations and analysis.
- Create 2D drawings using AutoCAD and 3D models using SolidWorks.
- Ensure engineering schedules for design and detailing work are met.
- Participate in internal design review meetings and customer meetings.
- Respond to queries from manufacturing, customers, and suppliers regarding engineering drawings.
- Assist in preparing operation and maintenance manuals.
- Travel within the UK and internationally as required.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer within an engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical parameters and engineering formulas for design calculations.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Mathcad.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations, industry best practices, and performance standards.
- Ability to work across multiple disciplines within project teams.
- Proficient in MS Office with strong time management and organisational skills.
- Willingness to travel to customer and supplier sites in the UK and worldwide.
- A Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is desirable.
