Mechanical Design Engineer\nFormula 1 - Northampton – 12 month contract - Hybrid - 3 days a week on site\nThis amazing long term contract role for a mechanical design engineer a is a unique opportunity to showcase your expertise and skills with a world leading Formula 1 organisation.\nYou will be a key member within the team and the person that secures this position will be crucial to the success of this dynamic company on its F1 projects. The duration of this contract is estimated to be 12 months minimum and will be inside IR35.\nThis is a hybrid position and there is a requirement for 3 days a week on site in Northamptonshire.\nWhat you will do\nWe're looking for Mechanical Designers with experience of using Siemens NX OR Catia and who are capable of demonstrating recent experience of concept design of highly stressed metallic parts, ideally with experience of powertrain design.\nThe role of mechanical design is more than just driving CAD. You will of course be using CAD to create and modify geometry (in NX or Catia) but will also be expected to be capable in the following:\n * Good understanding of the CAE/FEM process and perhaps be able to do simple hand calcs.
Have knowledge of basic material properties. OR, be capable of doing accurate geometry of engine parts/ancillaries\nWhat you will need:\n * Degree in Mechanical Engineering or experience in lieu\n * Be fluent on NX or Catia solid modelling.\n * Be capable of demonstrating recent experience of concept design of highly stressed parts\n * Consistent & stable history of employment/engagement\n * Authorised to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)\nWhat you will get:\n * Long term contract at a leading F1 racing team.\n * Opportunity to join a multiple F1 championship winning engineering business with state-of-the-art facilities including onsite subsidised restaurant, gym and parking.\n * Easy access to site.\nApplications:\nPlease apply with updated CV and details of current rate/salary and notice period.
