Job Role: Mechanical Design Engineer (Graduate) \nLocation: Leicester\n\nShift: Day shift \nSalary: £25k - £30k\n\nThe Role: \n\nTo be responsible for the design and detailing of automation equipment and special purpose machines as well as identify and set up test apparatus for high-risk areas of design.\n\nJob Role Responsibilities:\n\nTo create and assess design concepts at sales quotation stage to reduce risks, costs, lead times\nTo attend sales handover meetings and commit to an overall project plan\nTo understand and commit to the project budget and time scales and assist the Lead Engineer in achieving the overall goal\nTo visit customer sites as appropriate to fully understand their requirements and then document and communicate all such requirements to the customer and internal staff.\nTo perform design and detailing functions for projects, using 3D CAD packages\nTo ensure design bill of materials are produced on time and within budget\nTo assist the electrical design process\nTo compile a build folder and communicate build details to machine tool fitters to ensure an efficient build process\nTo pro-actively address and provide solutions to problems identified during development\nTo provide support to the Project Manager throughout the project including attendance at customer site \n\nThe Candidate:\n\nDegree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)\nMust be self-motivating with a 'can do' attitude\nAbility to communicate effectively, both written and verbal\nDesire to combine practical application with a theoretical approach\nPrepared to travel within the UK and possibly overseas if necessary \n\nApply: \n\nTo apply for this position, please send your CV to (url removed) or call myself on (phone number removed)
