Mechanical Engineer – Thermal System Design PLC Systems

We are seeking Mechanical Engineers specializing in 3D packaging, thermal system design, and hardware build and test. More specifically, a qualified Mechanical Engineer.

Position: Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Baltimore, Maryland

Salary: Aggressive Base Salary + Bonus

Industry: Space & Defense

Role: On-Site

Duties and Responsibilities:

· 3D packaging of complex power converters, energy storage systems, and PLC systems

· Building of complex power converters, energy storage systems, and PLC systems

· Thermal design of high-performance power converter cold plates, heat exchangers, and overall design of thermal management systems

· Structural analysis of package components, support structures, and shelving under harsh environment shock and vibration

· Insulation system design

Minimum Requirements:

Ø United States Citizenship preferred due to US Government ITAR program restrictions

Ø Must-Have a BS in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum 3.0 GPA

Ø MS and PhDs are a plus to have.

Ø Must-Have 2 to 5 years of Mechanical Engineering experience

Ø Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance

The following experience is not required, but highly desirable:

Ø Experience with CREO 3D modeling software

Ø Experience with COMSOL Multiphysics

Ø Experience designing thermal management systems and/or high-performance cold plates or heat exchangers.

Ø Experience with insulation systems

Immediate Requirements/Projects include:

· Packaging of MW scale power converters for naval ship applications.

· Insulation system design for MW scale power converters

· Thermal design of cold plates, heat exchangers, and overall TMS controllers for large energy storage systems

· E-field and thermal modeling in COMSOL Multiphysics

· Navy (surface & sub), Army vehicles and infrastructure, Aircraft

· Space/RF not required
