Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Mechanical Designer/Draftsman is responsible for creating detailed mechanical drawings and designs based on specifications and calculations provided by engineers. This role involves using CAD software (AutoDesk Inventor ) to produce accurate and detailed technical drawings, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company requirements. The Mechanical Designer/Draftsman collaborates with engineers and other team members to develop innovative and efficient mechanical systems and components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Drafting:
- Create detailed mechanical drawings and designs using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor).
- Prepare 2D and 3D models of mechanical components and assemblies.
- Develop layouts, schematics, and diagrams based on engineering specifications.
- Technical Documentation:
- Generate and maintain accurate and comprehensive technical documentation, including drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and specifications.
- Ensure all designs adhere to industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and constraints.
- Participate in design reviews and provide feedback to improve designs and processes.
- Coordinate with manufacturing and production teams to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective.
- Quality Assurance:
- Perform quality checks on drawings and designs to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Revise drawings based on feedback and changes in project scope or requirements.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in mechanical design and drafting technologies.
- Propose and implement improvements to design processes and tools.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, Design Technology, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in mechanical design and drafting.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, etc.).
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drafting and design.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Experience in designing for manufacturing (DFM) and knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Certification in CAD software.
- Experience with PDM/PLM systems.
Working Conditions:
