Mechanical Engineer

Description:


The Project Engineer will utilize mechanical engineering skillsets to support project management duties for ship modernization work on U.S navy vessels and parts. These include reading blueprints, designing fabrication processing and manufacturing solutions, manage erp systems, support project proposals, and managing schedules and deliverables.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:


Must be capable to obtain and maintain a security clearance


Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline such as, but not limited to: Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, and/or Industrial Engineering.


Minimum 3+ years' experience in one of more of the following: product, process, and/or system design, development, and product life cycle management


Experience using common industry CAD tools such as, but not limited to: Solidworks, AutoCAD


Experience using common industry PDM / PLM tools.


Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and the interrelationships of such systems with upstream design and development processes and downstream production processes


Strong verbal and written communication skills


Strong organizational and multi-task coordination skills


Ability to understand and execute work under emergent and strict scheduling deadlines.


Knowledge of MS office tools/programs


Experience in Ship Repair and/or Technical Service Industry


Experience using Oracle ERP system.


Knowledge of high volume / high reliability pump and compressor systems


Knowledge of industry standards and guideline such as: NAVSEA, OSHA, and MIL
