One of the major functional groups of this entity is LIGHT (Lam India Global Hardware Technology). In Hardware group, mechanical engineers, simulation analysts, electrical engineers, manufacturing engineers, and engineering support functions work collaboratively to design, develop sub-assemblies and sub-systems for Lam’s next-generation products. LIGHT has completed more than a decade of growth and has emerged as a major new product development and sustaining engineering team for Lam’s global engineering footprint. There is an opening for the role of Mechanical Engineer. This position is based out of Bangalore, directly reporting to the leader of Clean-Mechanical team in WETS (Wet Equipment Technology Solutions) Group of LIGHT. This individual shall collaborate with engineers in India and US on new product development of WETS product lines. Eligibility Criteria: Bachelor in mechanical engineering with 0 to 2 years’ experience.Primary Responsibilities: Design and Development of Mechanical components and sub-systems Analyze design through simulations and hand calculations Validate design by making prototypes and performing testing Collaborate with cross-functional Teams for review, approval and release Participate actively in Idea generation forums and contribute to innovative solutions Understand Lam products, Business processes and Standards Mandatory skills and experience required to perform the job: Application of Strength of Materials, Theory of Machines, Heat and Mass Transfer and Fluid flow principles to solve engineering problems Knowledge of various materials and their applications Knowledge of machining, welding, molding, sheet-metal fabrication & casting processes Desirable Skill: Hands-on projects that include prototyping and assembly Advanced manufacturing methods – Additive Manufacturing and 3D printing, Water jet machining, Ceramic manufacturing Experience with 3D Modelling, Assembly using any CAD package Use of simulation tools such as Ansys, Nastran, Creo Simulate etc. Exposure to electromechanical systems. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
