Mechanical Engineer

The Role Reporting to the Engineering and Design Manager, the Mechanical Engineer is responsible for mechanical design and drafting work including associated calculations.  You will ensure that all work is completed to a high standard and on schedule in accordance with Pacific Energy policies and procedures. You will deliver results through working closely with other key roles within the Engineering and Design function, as well as with Project Management resources to ensure critical timelines and deliverables are achieved according to plan. This role is based in our Derrimut office, Melbourne Key Responsibilities: Design and draft mechanical systems. Drafting of mechanical parts, assembly, general arrangements, and site layouts  Meet design and drafting assignments on time and within budget and in accordance with Project Specifications and Project Objectives.  Be involved in the delivery of mechanical drafting services that meet applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.  Ensure compliance of drawings against client and PE drafting standards.  Prepare and create engineering drawings and documentation in accordance with associated checking procedures. Updating project drawing registers.  Identify and report changes to project scopes.  Work with production and product managers to produce 3D designs for fabrication drawings. Deliver quality engineering to achieve successful project delivery About You: 4+ years post completion of bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering Formal drafting training and qualification in AutoCAD, inventor, or Solid works Proven experience in field commissioning and fault finding / diagnostics (preferred) Experience in the design and delivery of Gas and/or H2 solutions Demonstrated key stakeholder engagement and ability to build relationships to effectively achieve desired outcomes. Must be able to comprehend Engineering drawings including English, numeracy, and literacy.
