Mechanical Engineer

I am currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer with electrical experience to work for a family run business who specialise in the manufacture of Groundcare, Agricultural, ATV and Industrial machinery sectors.

 

This Mechanical Engineer position is a temporary to permanent opportunity and is paying £14 - £15 per hour. You will be working Monday – Friday 8am – 4:30pm however there is flexibility around this.

 

In this role as a Mechanical Engineer, you will report to the Project Leader and be involved in the production of Autonomous mowers including mechanical and basic electronic assembly. Your duties will include the below:



The assembly and testing of autonomous mowers  

To precisely follow the set forward schedules for production. 

Engage in continuous improvement processes including 5S and Kanban systems. 

Ensure all product builds are finished and inspected to the required high-quality standards that Wessex customers expect.  

To carry out any other duties requested by management.  

I am keen to hear from applicants with the following skills and experience:



Previously worked as a Mechanical Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or similar

Possess and exercise excellent communication skills, partially verbally at all levels.  

Ability to think creatively and problem solve. 

High attention to detail. 

Willingness to follow process in the interest of continuous improvement. 

Technically minded, must have mechanical assembly/fitting experience and ideally with some electronic assembly experience.  

Happy and capable to work on various projects and related roles including warehousing, field testing and transporting of autonomous mowers.
