Mechanical Engineering Technician

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our team! You will be responsible for improving our products through innovation and continuous improvement initiatives as well as creating solutions to our customers technical concerns.
Role and Responsibilities
- Plan, conceptualize, and create designs for new machinery directly related to the waste industry.
- Develop testing processes, and perform testing and validation of new designs
- Generate working prototypes for beta testing and customer demonstration
- Perform engineering calculations to support design work
- Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using SolidWorks
- Create 3D models on SolidWorks for all parts, assemblies, and weldments of a machine into SolidWorks using existing part numbers/descriptions created from our ERP system.
- Review existing notes, sketches, drawings, and interview team members throughout the organization to determine accuracy of existing information.
- Assist in the creation of process documentation (instructions) for building machines for each manufacturing step to include the Plasma Table, Press Brake, Welding Sub-Assemblies, Complete Weldment, and other miscellaneous tasks related to this scope only.
- Support customers by developing solutions to their technical issues.
Required Skills
- Proficient knowledge of 3D design software SolidWorks and 2D design software AutoCAD
- Experience with detailed manufacturing drawings, bill of materials, and related documentation required
- Knowledge of ASME Y14/ANSI Y14 drafting standards
- Knowledge of sheet metal, plate steel, structural fabrication
- Proficient knowledge of manufacturing processes (welding, bending, assembly, etc.)
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to delivering successful project outcomes
- Must be able to adhere to tight schedules and deadlines
- Must be comfortable using the telephone and interacting with customers
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- College Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Related Field

- Demonstrated troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
- Tenacious problem solver, organized, detail oriented.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Demonstrated ability to translate user needs into design specifications.
- Excellent verbal and written skills. Ability to communicate quickly, clearly, and concisely.
- Mechanical aptitude including ability to use common shop tools and measurement equipment
