Location: Thurrock, Essex

Salary: Negotiable (Approx. £60k)

Job Summary:

Our client, a leading M&E contractor in the UK, is seeking an experienced Estimator with a background in construction estimating for main or sub-contractors to join their team on a permanent basis. This role is based in Thurrock and will cover projects across South East England.

Duties:

* Primary Location: Based in Thurrock, with potential travel to London, Essex, and the South East for meetings.

* Estimate projects valued between £150k and £10m.

* Liaise with main clients regarding projects and RFIs.

* Attend tender meetings.

* Analyse project specifications and drawings to prepare accurate cost estimates.

* Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand project requirements.

* Conduct site visits to assess project scope and gather necessary information.

* Utilise cost estimation software and tools to generate detailed estimates.

* Prepare comprehensive and competitive bids for projects.

* Monitor project costs throughout the project lifecycle to ensure cost control.

* Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.

* Present estimates and proposals to clients in a clear and professional manner.

Requirements:

* Proven experience as an Estimator for main contractors.

* Some M&E knowledge is beneficial.

* Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.

* Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

* Proficiency in using cost estimation software and Microsoft Excel.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

* Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
