Mechanical Fitter
JOB OVERVIEW /
Midland Structures Ltd are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter with expertise in structural steelwork and pipe fitting to join our team. The ideal candidate will have past experience working within a similar environment and will be responsible for assembling and installing structural steel components and pipework systems according to engineering specifications. This role requires a high level of precision, technical expertise, and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members to ensure project success.

JOB TITLE / Mechanical Fitter (Pipework & Mechanical Services)
LOCATION / On-site
JOB TYPE / Full-time, permanent
RATE / Negotiable dependant on experience
HOURS / Monday – Friday, 07:00 - 15:00 (40 hrs p/w with a paid 30 min. break per shift)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES /
Installation & Assembly:
* Assemble, fit, & install structural steel components and pipe systems according to detailed plans & technical drawings.
* Use a variety of tools including measuring equipment, hand tools & power tools as appropriate.
* Perform other duties as required, consistent with your skills & knowledge.
Quality Assurance:
* Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, safety regulations, & company policies.
* Complete daily reports detailing processes & completed work for traceability.
Collaboration:
* Work closely with engineers, welders & fabricators to ensure projects are delivered on time.
* Provide input on potential issues or improvements to assist in ongoing & future projects.
Health & Safety:
* Adhere to health and safety protocols, wear appropriate PPE & maintain a safe working environment at all times in line with the company's Heath & Safety policies.
* Report any unsafe conditions or practices to supervisors
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE /
Experience:
* Previous experience working as a Mechanical Fitter with a focus on structural steelwork and pipe fitting being preferable.
* Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings & plans.
* Experience working in large construction or industrial projects.
Skills:
* Excellent mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with various tools & equipment.
* Strong problem-solving skills & the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
* Ability to work at heights & in confined spaces when required.

Through investment and innovation, we have developed a supply chain capable of accommodating our customer’s requirements with projects ranging from 1 tonne up to 1000 tonnes. With the latest software and machinery, we are able to process in excess of 150 tonnes of steelwork per week.
