Job description:
At Capgemini Engineering, we are seeking a Core Engine Calibration Engineer to join our team, where diversity and inclusion are at the core of our work culture. This role involves a diverse range of responsibilities and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of Air-flow Estimation, Emissions Calibration, Torque Estimation, Thermal Model Calibration, Engine Rating…etc. Aspects of core engine calibration.
- Support commissioning of test properties (Dynamometers) at Client sites and collaborate with logistics, test technology team ensuring operational efficiency KPIs are met.
- Build and complete test plans in accordance with the calibration processes.
- Post-processing test data supporting robust calibration development per Calibration Maturity achievements.
- Collaborate with rest of the Calibration, Propulsion System teams, participating/supporting calibration development trips.
- Create, perform, adjust test plans with suppliers and other team members to resolve engineering challenges ensuring Functional Objectives are satisfied.
- Support ECM SW Validation efforts on HIL, engine dynamometer, vehicle. Support tracking, partner concern and closure of identified SW issues.
- Support tracking, reporting of calibration maturity progress and risk mitigation steps among various collaborators.
- Support documentation of Lessons Learned, Calibration Process Improvements and Development of New Calibration Methodology working with Engineering.
Basic Qualifications:
· Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related degree.
· Knowledge of Fundamentals of Internal Combustion Engines, Core Engine Calibration, Controls Algorithm validation.
· Experience leading engine dynamometer or a similar test property.
· Excellent interpersonal skills with good leadership qualities to thrive in a dynamic work environment.
· Excellent analytical skills with confirmed ability to conduct detailed engineering analysis.
· Excellent communication skills to optimally communicate engineering progress and intensify any potential technical or timing risks.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Powertrain Systems Engineering experience developing Engine HW, Controls/SW, Calibration.
· Experience solving engine dynamometer and test cell instrumentation.
· Drivability and Emissions calibration, Hybrid Powertrain calibration experience.
· Knowledge of INCA/AVL CRETA or similar calibration management tools.
· Knowledge of sophisticated data processing tools such as MATLAB Simulink
· Knowledge of Controls, Software development and HIL validation methodology.
