Contract - Principal Mechanical Process Engineer - Nuclear

Manchester / North West

Hybrid Working (1 day in the office / remote)

Up to £70hr (Inside IR35)



This opportunity is for a Contract Principal Mechanical Process Engineer to join a friendly, supportive, and creative engineering team, and to be able to work with one of their key clients on a project in the Nuclear sector.



Responsibilities:



* Perform the role of mechanical lead on a large nuclear sector project.



* Produce mechanical engineering design deliverables (including calculations, datasheets, specifications and schedules)



* Contribute to safety reviews and other risk assessments



* Checking of mechanical deliverables to ensure engineering designs meet appropriate quality and compliance controls, project brief and customer requirements.



* Reviewing vendor quotations and liaising with equipment and package vendors



* Utility system specification, design, and capacity evaluation



* Checking of piping design documents, including checking isometrics and layout drawings



* Assist in plant layout development



* Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary members of the design team to deliver safe, efficient, and buildable solutions



If you have the following knowledge we would be keen to have a conversation with you:



* Degree in Mechanical Engineering



* Significant experience in the nuclear sector



* Have experience in coordinating multi-disciplinary design teams



* Experience in nuclear fuel reprocessing



* Want to take ownership, be innovative, use initiative and are driven by client satisfaction



The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain security clearance for this role.
