Mechanical Project Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer for a specialist Contractor that designs, builds and installs HVAC, Ventilation Systems & Fire Protection systems . They deliver solutions in the Nuclear Power & Rail sectors.

Primarily you will be working on Hinkley Point C in Somerset , the Design and Construction of the first new nuclear power station in a .

As a Mechanical Project Engineer you will

* Ensure that the project requirements, specifications, design drawings, health and safety proposals are all read, understood and agreed and that a project program is in place

* Assist in the preparation of Health and Safety Plans, Quality Plans, Method Statements & Risk Assessments.

* Produce a labour schedule in conjunction with the PM.

* Supervise and manage all site-based operations, overseeing all aspects of work.

* Check that all materials used, including those used by sub-contractors, are compliant with technical and quality specifications.

* Ensure compliance with client specifications, method statements, industry standards and legislation on site.

* Supervise and check quality at all times, maintaining a snagging list and ensure all snags are closed out in a timely manner.

* Control of weekly progress against program and supporting budget.

* Interface with external clients

The successful candidate will have a Mechanical Biased Qualification combined with experience of managing the installation of Mechanical Services within the Power Stations or Rail environment .

In return the successful candidate will benefit from a basic salary of £60k ,(15% salary uplift if living away from home 3 + days a week) company car, pension , medical, 25 Days annual leave and a lodging allowance up to £2400 per month ( If residing further than 50 miles from site)
