Mechanical Project Engineer\nBirmingham\nMonday to Friday 36hrs/wk\n24mth fixed-term contract\n\nOur client is a leading manufacturer based in Birmingham and is currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join their team. If you are an experienced hands-on individual with a background in engineering, mechanically-minded, and a leader - this is the role for you!\n\nPosition Overview\n\nAs a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing both civil and mechanical aspects of projects, ensuring their smooth execution and successful completion. You will be responsible for managing supplier tenders, assessments, and procurement processes, as well as supervising the relocation of equipment.
This position requires close collaboration with site management, suppliers, contractors, and various departments to ensure project objectives are implemented.\n\nResponsibilities\n- Act as project lead for civil and mechanical elements, including tender processes and equipment relocation\n- Manage a range of Capex projects varying from area refurbishment to mass machine installation\n- Flexible/hands-on - operating forklift, cranes, MEWP\n- Plan and program project steps from preliminary through to installation\n- Supervise project site work, coordinating trades and activities\n- Coordinate commissioning and compile operating instructions and documentation\n- Maintain budget and ensure best value at all times\n- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and contractor control procedures\n\nRequirements\n- HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (essential)\n- Experience managing projects from concept to completion (essential)\n- Strong safety culture (essential)\n- Budget control exp (desirable)\n- SAP knowledge (desirable)\n- PM experience - engineering background\n\nThey are looking to hire soon, so apply today!\n\nAt KHR we take care to ensure that you are represented as well as possible so it is worth checking your CV for layout, spelling and grammar as well as making sure it is up to date before you submit.
