Job Description
Mechanical QC Inspector / Engineer – Reading (min 12 months & rolling)\n\n£38.50 per hour (outside IR35) + average 45-50hr working week on site + travel time up to 5hrs per week + overnight accommodation allowance + excellent overtime rates & weekend work + long-term contract assignments\n\nMechanical QC Inspector / Engineer responsibilities include:\n\n * Provide independent inspection and quality control services relating to new equipment in manufacture, fabrication, and construction.\n\n * Equipment includes pressure / piping equipment and other mechanical / electrical items manufactured and installed to conventional codes, standards, and regulations.\n\n * Review of fabrication / manufacturing documentation within delegated authority levels in terms of quality plans, ITP’s fabrication / manufacturing procedures, welding procedures, NDE procedures, compilation, and review of LTQRs.\n\n * Develop and maintain excellent relationships with both internal and external Customers.\n\nMechanical QC Inspector / Engineer profile:\n\n * An experienced Mechanical Engineer / Inspector, ideally min 10yrs background as a Welding Engineer & 5yrs in equipment inspections (including NDT & material control)\n\n * SC cleared / previously SC cleared OR eligible for SC clearance ( & working in the UK for the last 5yrs)\n\n * C&G Cert / or equivalent experience in Fabrication & Welding and/or HNC/BTEC in engineering discipline.\n\n * CSWIP 3.1/3.2PCN\n\n * Radiographic Interpretation Levell II\n\n * PCN Liquid Penetrant Inspection Level II OR Magnetic Particle Inspection Level II\n\n * Sound understanding in Materials, Welding and NDE techniques.\n\n * Good working knowledge of UK requirements for Inspection in high hazard industries.\n\n * Ability to work successfully in a team, providing guidance, support and training as and when necessary.\n\nIf the above Mechanical QC Inspector / Engineer contract looks of interest, then please send us your CV and one of our consultants will be in touch
