Mechanical QC Inspector / Engineer – Reading (min 12 months & rolling)\n£38.50 per hour (outside IR35) + average 45-50hr working week on site + travel time up to 5hrs per week + overnight accommodation allowance + excellent overtime rates & weekend work + long-term contract assignments\nMechanical QC Inspector / Engineer responsibilities include:\n * Provide independent inspection and quality control services relating to new equipment in manufacture, fabrication, and construction.\n * Equipment includes pressure / piping equipment and other mechanical / electrical items manufactured and installed to conventional codes, standards, and regulations.\n * Review of fabrication / manufacturing documentation within delegated authority levels in terms of quality plans, ITP’s fabrication / manufacturing procedures, welding procedures, NDE procedures, compilation, and review of LTQRs.\n * Develop and maintain excellent relationships with both internal and external Customers.\nMechanical QC Inspector / Engineer profile:\n * An experienced Mechanical Engineer / Inspector, ideally min 10yrs background as a Welding Engineer & 5yrs in equipment inspections (including NDT & material control)\n * SC cleared / previously SC cleared OR eligible for SC clearance ( & working in the UK for the last 5yrs)\n * C&G Cert / or equivalent experience in Fabrication & Welding and/or HNC/BTEC in engineering discipline.\n * CSWIP 3.1/3.2PCN\n * Radiographic Interpretation Levell II\n * PCN Liquid Penetrant Inspection Level II OR Magnetic Particle Inspection Level II\n * Sound understanding in Materials, Welding and NDE techniques.\n * Good working knowledge of UK requirements for Inspection in high hazard industries.\n * Ability to work successfully in a team, providing guidance, support and training as and when necessary.\nIf the above Mechanical QC Inspector / Engineer contract looks of interest, then please send us your CV and one of our consultants will be in touch
