Temp to hire Role; Day shift with some overtime

Location: NW Houston

The primary responsibility of the Repair Technician is to perform complete repairs on customer equipment for equipment in the Service Center. The Repair Technician will be responsible for working within the overall Service Center team to accomplish the goals of the business in the areas of EHS, Quality, On-Time Delivery, Operating Costs, and Productivity improvements. Additional responsibilities will include but are not limited too:


  • Performs necessary disassembly, diagnosis, inspection, and reassembly to a wide variety of blowers, pumps, and compression.
  • Inspection may include visual and/or instrument examination. Evaluates the condition of existing parts/components, for possible reuse or replacement.
    Willingness to work with other employees in a team environment
    Performs any tests such as leak or slip.
    As required, operates any/all equipment necessary to accomplish the repair and rebuild of all customer units.
    Completes written records, such as check sheets, clearances, pressure tests, inspection reports, etc., required by job order.
    Operates various torches to perform heating or cutting in the disassembly and repair of units.
    As required, secures units and/or parts, and prepares for shipment. Duties include some painting and foam packing.
  • Operates fork truck, overhead crane for the purpose of loading, unloading, or transporting parts/units to, from, and within the Service Center.

    Maintains a clean and orderly work area, including such duties as sweeping, emptying trash containers, spillage cleanup, and disposing of scrap parts in the shop, and stacking and organizing parts/units in storage/staging areas within the Service Center.

    Observes plant rules and safe working practices.

Desired Requirements:
Experience in rotating equipment repair
Environmental and Safety focused
Ability to work in and contribute in a team environment
Quality focused
TIG or arc welding

Experience operating machine tools such as mills, lathes or drill presses
Proven track record in working with cross-functional teams to help build effective processes
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
