Job Title: Mechanical Site Manager
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 per year
Location: Reading
Job Type: Full-time, On site permanent or contract
Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Site Manager to lead and oversee mechanical installations on a high-end residential project. This role involves managing daily on-site operations, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities of a Mechanical Site Manager:
- Collaborate closely with the project team, subcontractors, and the client's team to ensure safe progress of works.
- Establish and communicate milestones to package contractors for successful project progression and completion.
- Ensure on-site instructions from client's authorised personnel are recorded and managed.
- Coordinate installation drawings and participate in commissioning and handover, including defects identification, snagging, and closure.
- Manage and monitor performance of engineering staff and specialist sub-contractors to ensure mechanical tasks are completed according to plans and drawings.
- Proactively allocate work for efficient deployment of subcontractors.
- Take ownership of mechanical issues and resolve them promptly.
- Ensure safety standards are understood, implemented, and maintained by all team members and contractors.
- Assist the onsite construction team to ensure subcontractors adhere to the program and construction sequence.
- Raise any issues affecting progress, and ensure quality benchmarks are maintained and delivered consistently.
Requirements of a Mechanical Site Manager:
- Previous experience working as a Mechanical Site Manager on multi-million pound projects
- Experience in the energy from waste sector (or similar) is desirable but not essential
- SSSTS or SMSTS
- CSCS Card
- Relevant construction qualifications (e.g., HND)
- Proven construction experience across a wide range of projects
- Understanding of building services, including design principles, method statements, Inspection Test Plans, Risk Assessments, commissioning, and handover requirements
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with subcontractors, consultants, and other team members
- First Aid and Health & Safety qualification
