We are in search of an experienced Mechanical Staff Engineer to join a leading engineering services firm. The ideal candidate should possess a self-driven and detail-oriented approach, thriving on taking ownership, adapting swiftly to challenges, and solving problems.
Location: Hybrid, based in Wilkes-Barre or Bethlehem, PA.
Salary: $85k-$105k/year
Responsibilities:
- Conduct site visits to document existing conditions and comprehend client needs.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
- Research and analyze customer design parameters, specifications, manuals, and other data to assess the feasibility and maintenance requirements of designs and/or applications.
- Execute and document mechanical design tasks for significant HVAC, plumbing, and process mechanical projects.
- Utilize 3D modeling software to create design models and construction drawings.
- Develop engineering drawings, sketches, Process Flow Diagrams, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams, and Control Diagrams in electronic or manual formats.
- Provide construction administration services, including reviewing shop drawings, attending meetings, conducting field inspections, overseeing system startup, and addressing debugging.
- Analyze mechanical systems and conduct functional component criticality assessments.
- Collaborate with a multi-discipline team, technical leaders, and project manager to integrate design information and client standards into construction documents.
- Assist the Engineer of Record in the selection and design process of system components.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of study.
- Practical knowledge of fans, pumps, piping, valves, HVAC, and control devices and systems.
- Strong writing, organization, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
- Working knowledge of load calculation and energy modeling software is preferred.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD/Revit is required.
