Mechanical Supervisor
Job Description
As a Mechanical Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of mechanical installations and systems on-site for a large commercial project. You will lead a team of technicians and subcontractors, ensuring all mechanical work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. The role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, exceptional leadership, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * Supervision of Mechanical Works: Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, heating, and ventilation systems.\n\n * Team Leadership: Manage and lead a team of mechanical technicians, operatives, and subcontractors, ensuring high performance, safety, and quality standards.\n\n * Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure the project site adheres to all health and safety regulations, conducting regular site inspections and risk assessments.\n\n * Quality Control: Monitor the quality of mechanical installations, ensuring all work is completed in accordance with the project's specifications, industry standards, and safety guidelines.\n\n * Project Coordination: Work closely with the site manager, project manager, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth delivery of the project.\n\n * Material & Resource Management: Coordinate the delivery of materials and equipment, ensuring resources are available when needed and the project runs smoothly.\n\n * Client Communication: Liaise with clients and other stakeholders, providing regular updates on progress and addressing any issues or concerns that may arise.\n\n * Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Resolve any mechanical issues on-site promptly, minimizing delays and ensuring continued progress on the project.\n\nQualifications & Skills:\n\n * Valid CSCS card\n\n * SSSTS / SMSTS\n\n * Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor in the commercial or industrial sector (minimum of 5 years).\n\n * Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and ventilation systems.\n\n * Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.\n\n * Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and experience implementing these on-site.\n\n * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.\n\n * Experience in supervising mechanical installations on large-scale commercial projects.\n\n * Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.\n\n * Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
