Mechanical System Layout Architect

Introduction to the jobWe are looking for a Mechanical System Layout Architect, to define and validate the mechanical system layout and factory-infrastructural layout of the Scanner environment of the EUV machines. You will secure that our machines can be manufactured, installed and serviced in an efficient and robust way. Do feasibility, concepts studies, define installation documentation and support integration of new hardware that will be added to the machines.Working at the cutting edge of tech, you’ll always have new challenges and new problems to solve – and working together is the only way to do that. You’ll have the flexibility and trust to choose how best to tackle tasks and solve problems.Role and responsibilitiesPerforms system layout studies, optimized for Commonality, Seismic, Build & Adjust, Serviceability, Safety and Transport and drive solution directions towards hardware delivering projects.Collaborate with Hardware delivering projects and pre-install group, manage budgets for volume, mass, seismic & tolerances, take lead cross-project in getting agreement on structural pre-install layoutMaintain and optimize Module configuration for e.g. build, service, cycle time, costValidate concept changes, prescribe and validate tests like layout (accessibility), mass, tolerancesSupport integration of new systems in our factoryCooperate with the factory and field, identify and drive improvements on integration (manufacturability & serviceability, ergonomics, safety)Support factory & field in case of issues related to the layout of the mechanical system Define, validate and take lead on timely delivery and updates of all structural layout documentation for pre-install for highly complex machines.Drive continuous improvement of the deliverables and processes you work with.Responsible for knowledge on customer infra/facility on system level and able to determine impact for customer infraEducation and experienceMaster or Bachelor degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanics or MechatronicsExperience in validating layout / building complex machines or products (like cars, aerospace)At least 7 years working experienceExperience with Siemens NX (preferred)Experience with tolerance calculations (preferred)At least 2 years ASML experience (preferred) Experience in the area of factory facility preparation, pre-install, or other roles involving customer alignment, machine install, multi-level stakeholder alignment, in combination with technical insight and accuracy (preferred)SkillsTo thrive in this job, you’ll need the following skills:Strong communicatorAble to steer design teams for the best system level solutions (convincing without power)Critical on design solutions (of others). The department Mechanical Development is designing, building and testing mechanical systems and sub-systems which are fitted into the end products.You will be part of the Mechanical System Layout (MSL) group, which is responsible for the mechanical system architecture.
