A well-established builder-developer is seeking an MEP Project Manager for projects in Jersey City, NJ. The individual will assist with managing and coordinating MEP-related aspects for a mix of residential, retail and commercial properties, most significantly in highrise multi-family construction.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Assist with managing all aspects of design and construction for MEP components of building projects with an emphasis on electrical systems.
• Review blueprints and drawings for all designated projects, including providing comments and take-offs. Provide comments oriented towards value engineering, construction feasibility, completeness using gained industry knowledge and experience.
• Track and manage performance of subcontractors against established project schedules and budget.
• Request estimates and manage the bid process to ensure successful closeout, including assisting to write scopes of works and pricing sheets for MEP components
• Follow established guidelines and procedures to increase communication and overall efficiencies
• Participate in the design and pre-development phase of construction projects
• Build and maintain relationships with consultants, and contractor contact and leads
• Prepare well-written reports and business correspondence
• Administrative duties to include: meeting minutes; team updates; building inspections, permit tracking and commissioning.
• Additional duties as needed

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in a construction-related field
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in design and/or construction
• Willingness to work from office and field locations, as needed
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
• Background in general construction is a plus
• Proactive attitude when tackling issues that arise
• Balances team and individual responsibilities; contributes to building a positive team spirit; puts success of team above own interests
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Follows instructions and responds to management direction; commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals; completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.
• Proficiency in CAD software, Adobe products and Microsoft Office Suite a plus
• Highly organized and detail oriented
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
