Position: Metal Fab CAD Operator
FLSA Status: Hourly, Non Exempt
Reports to: Project Manager
JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary
Responsible for field measuring, creating CAD drawings based on metal fabricating and assembly.
Essential Functions

· Must keep assigned areas clean and organized as necessary to maintain a Safe and productive working environment.
· Ensures that proper Safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Brings problems to the attention of the Foreman or Project Manager
· Measuring Functions
1. Know and understand the use of measuring devices in the field
2. Be detail oriented to document project specifications
3. Travel within 100 miles to customer job sites to measurer & document
4. Take photos as necessary to understand the full scope of customer needs
· CAD Functions
1. Must be able to proficiently use AutoDesk CAD software to detail fabrication projects
2. CAD design for metal fabrication for burning on plasma table with accurate final dimensions
3. Verify measurement accuracy
· Other duties as assigned

· Competent at designing CAD drawings for metal fabrication process
· Ability to learn new tasks, functions or processes
· Able to work in the shop or in the field as required
· Able to perform fabrication and welding functions
· Technical and mechanical capacity is a must
· Thoroughness and Pride in workmanship required
· Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints
· Ability to communicate and report effectively
· Excellent problem-solving abilities
· Must have a valid driver’s license with the ability to hold a Medical Card
· Clean driving record
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at customer job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; and effectively jumps, sprints or throws objects. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The employee must frequently lift or move items up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move items up to 100 pounds. The employee must have excellent stamina.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6am to 4 pm. Starting time will change depending on the job. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
