Praxis Resources, a Custom Additive Manufacturing Company, and Avionics Part 145 Repair Station is
looking to fill the position of Manufacturing Technician. Located in Gilbert, Arizona for 26 years, the
company is looking to hire an onsite, full-time metal fabricator. Candidates should be ambitious,
creative, and energetic. Praxis is looking for someone that brings together the best aspects of creativity,
innovation, technical knowledge, and passion.
Job Summary
Successful Candidates will work in a team environment that is responsible for supporting Praxis’
assembly and manufacturing division with metal fabrication, including sheet metal fabrication,
machined and additive manufactured parts. The candidates of the Custom Fabrication and Additive
Manufacturing department will be working with the team on a variety of special projects for Praxis
across a number of industries, including aerospace and defense, consumer product markets,
entertainment, and more. Praxis’ goal is to find candidates that will utilize their background, experience,
imaginative thinking and hard work to assist in the development of the capabilities of the team, as well
as the development of the department as we expand into new industries
Essential functions and responsibilities
1. Mill Set-up: Loading tools, vices, and fixtures into the machine in an efficient manner.
2. Operating CNC Milling Machines (HAAS VF4/VF5 or Nakamura AS-200L)
3. Proven CAM Programing experience (Mastercam)
4. SolidWorks Experience is .
5. Additive Manufacturing experience using FDM and SLS machines .
6. Toolpath Optimization: Alter existing or develop new, efficient tool paths to ensure
precise and accurate part production.
7. Knowledge of appropriate tooling for specific materials.
8. Perform basic machine maintenance as needed to keep CNC’s running.
9. Prototyping: Much of the Machining that Praxis does is first run. The candidates will be
responsible for assisting with the part creation process form set-up to finalized
component.
10. Problem Solving: Be able to systematically solve errors on CNC machines or other
issues around the shop.
11. Collaboration: Work closely with the Praxis Shop Team to translate design specifications
into functional programs and components.
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
1. Mathematical skills given the complex shapes of metal sheets created for various projects, metal
sheet workers need to be able to calculate exact sizes and angles for the sheet to fit.
2. Computer skills, sheet metal working is heavily reliant on computer technology, Sheet metal
workers need to know how to use computer software to design products and cut metal
3. Dexterity, precisely and safely cutting pieces of metal requires good motor skills and hand-eye
coordination.
4. Mechanical skills are a must, metal work involves working with various tools such as shears
pressure and lasers. Operating and maintaining this kind of equipment requires strong
mechanical skis.
5. Be Imaginative: Praxis is looking for a person that are willing to examine projects and build
proposals from a different perspective, using imagination to solve challenges brought forward to
us by our customers.
6. Be Inquisitive: Our customers bring us unique challenges that need to be examined and
explored. The ideal candidate must be willing and able to seek out solutions which will allow us
to be successful with these challenges.
7. Be Technical: The Custom Fabrication and Additive Manufacturing department is primarily a
technical division, and the vast majority of challenges presented to the team will involve some
technical aspect.
